"Maybe I'm crazy, yeah. 

A little naive, 

But the light at the end is brighter than it used to be

"Why?" She asked quizzically through the tears. 

"I want to see how many times you needed me, and I wasn't there," he whispered, a tear forming under his molten eyes.

Neige doesn't like her scars. They remind her of every single time she was hurt and abused by the dragons that were supposed to protect her and keep her safe. 

Most of Meteor's are battle scars. However, he does have a couple of when his father would hurt him because there were those couple of times that he made a mistake in his calculations or during sparing. 

Neige and Meteor's backstories are actually pretty similar.

Neige grew up living in her brother's great shadow, her parents hating her for breathing, and everyone being cruel to her because of her parent's mistakes to her brother. She had to hide a great secret of power from her entire tribe because they had already proved to her that they didn't like her, how could having power improve her status? In her head, it was impossible. She was a walking bag of scars. You couldn't get any lower than that. 

Meteor grew up with his mother absent, 2 older siblings who wanted nothing to do with him, his father turning him into the most fearsome dragon in Pyrrhia, and being forced to be loyal to a monster of a queen. He's killed other dragons, each one leaving its own scar on his heart. 

They both don't have great starts, believing they weren't worthy of something like love and kindness because, for some reason, everyone around them hated them and had condemned them to a fate that neither knew what they had done to deserve. 

But then they met each other. And they started thinking. They started laughing and smiling and their eyes growing bright when they saw each other. And all of a sudden, things started to be brighter. The sky was bluer, the grass was greener, the stars were twinkling more brightly than ever before. 

So when they met, maybe, just maybe, the universe didn't hate them as much as they thought.
